This, That and the Other Thing

Today’s update is going to cover a few different things, thus the title J. First up, no disasters took place so I was able to finish another square on London!

Now that whole top section is complete (minus the backstitching of course). It’s a little less than half (good grief) stitched now so there’s still a ways to go, haha! By breaking it down into small squares it really doesn’t take too long to finish a portion- it’s just there are so many fun things to stitch on!
Which is why I’ve started another project J.

I’m about half done with this Hufflepuff bookmark. It’s going to be part of a conglomeration of fun, nerdy, (and small!) stitched pieces for my friend’s birthday. I’ll work on them one at a time though so things don’t get too crazy!
And lastly for today, my package from 123 came in which made me really excited J. It contains stash materials for two projects I’ve mentioned before about wanting to start this year (and that I’ll add to my WIPocalpyse list). I got in the last few colors I needed for the HAED of Sloth, so she’s now all kitted up except for the fabric. I’m still thinking of going with the 20 ct Lugana, as I liked the coverage I got with my vampires piece and it will come out at a decent size. It will still be a while before I get the fabric and start her though (but in the meantime I’ll work on kitting up Gluttony, which I plan to start at the same time haha).
Finally, *drum roll please* I got the fabric for my Sailor Moon project! Whee, I’m super excited J. Most likely it won’t be long before I officially start on it, but first I have to do my own form of gridding so I won’t mess up haha. So, many many fun stitching things in my future.
Have a great stitching week!

February IHSW update

Well, another hermitage weekend has come and gone and I found some time to stitch but not as much as I’d have liked. I’m pretty pleased with the progress I did make though, as I got some smaller goals accomplished and that’s always lovely J. First up is my update on London- I finished another square as there wasn’t too much left to do.

I really like how the clock tower is coming along, particularly the way the yellows look against the sky. Barring anything disastrous occurring I still think it’s safe for me to say I’ll get that last square complete this month! That’d be like a tiny miracle for this piece, haha.
I also have another update on David.

I finally finished the brown! Phew, now that whole side is complete. Rest assured I didn’t do all that this weekend; I’ve been putting more stitches in over the past few weeks and only had the final 20 or so rows left on Saturday. I’m very glad that it’s done as it got pretty tedious toward the end, haha. (I’m never satisfied- big blocks of color start to get boring, but lots of color changes get very fiddly J). There’s a tiny pinprick of light at the end of this particular tunnel now, it’s just a matter of getting there.
Have a great stitching week!

London Calling

I seemed to have gotten into a rhythm with the London picture and made a bit of progress on it. Even more of Big Ben is visible now, with the two clock faces almost complete. I worked mostly on some sky this week, as I was further along on this than my last picture showed.

I’m going to see if I can finish out the rest of that row by the end of the month. Seems a simple enough task, but often whenever I set goals like that something happens to disrupt them!
I did finish the new design I had started though. Mostly I thought it was pretty funny J :

I even used blending filament in the word sparkle, so it’s shiny in the right light, haha. Again this design came from Kell at Kincavel Krosses.
Have a great stitching week!

February WIPocalypse update

It’s time to check in for the WIPocalypse SAL again! So far I’ve continued to stick with David as I finally made it through (half) his suit. The most recent progress on him is in my last post here.
Blue Moon is coming along as well, if slowly. There are several different shades in it now even if it doesn’t look like it! I love the colors in this one, but I know now why HAED take such a long time to do, haha.

My last update for today is on the London picture. Another “square” is finished now, with more of Big Ben beginning to appear.

Sometimes it takes me a while to get back into a piece but I’m enjoying working on this one again. I’m actually a bit farther along than this picture shows but I just haven’t taken another photo. I think I’ll keep going on London for a while and see how far I get. Perhaps by next month I’ll have a new WIPocalypse piece to show, but for now these ones are keeping me decently occupied J.
Have a great stitching week!

What can brown do for you?

To be honest it’s not doing a whole heck of a lot for me at the moment, haha. But the important thing is that the brown coat has been started:

Ta da! Woo hoo, I never thought I would finish his suit on that side. Now I’ve just got the brown to go and then he’s at least that much closer to being done J .
I’ll be back on Tuesday with my update on some other pictures for the next WIPocalypse check in. Until then,
Have a great stitching week!
(P.S. This pattern of David Tennant appeared in Quick and Easy magazine issue 137).
